Read more here:

Study was carried out as a part of the C-PLUS project which is funded by the European Union's Central Europe program that sponsors transnational cooperation projects to further innovation and competitiveness, and is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Paper aims to empirically explore the impact of absorptive capacity (AC) on explorative and exploitative innovation in business cluster settings, and the environment's moderating role on these relationships.

Using a sample of Central European companies, the paper applies multivariate data analysis techniques to test the effect of AC on innovation performance and potential moderators, respectively.

Under the German heading "Absorptionsfähigkeit von Wissen und intraregionale Kooperation als Erfolgsfaktoren für Innovation" PP4 CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences successfully submitted a paper for the 7th research forum of the Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences based on the data material collected within the framework of the C-Plus project. As already revealed in former data analyses, the absorptive capacity of knowledge makes substantial contribution to the innovation performance of companies. Our examination showed that this positive effect can be significantly reinforced through close collaboration in the region. Based on a more detailed investigation on the stakeholder-level we came to the realization that this positive moderating effect is mainly caused by close cooperation with local customers and partner organizations. The paper will be presented on April 3, 2013 and will be published in the conference proceedings.
